I am on an amazing journey
I am listening to every 1994 show in order, mining for gold.
Last MSG run, and it's going to be good. When picking the best shows of the year, people often point to shows from these final few runs of '94, especially MSG.
Set 1 HIGHlights: Wonderful openers. Touch hits hard, and Vince really nails the organ on Wang Dang Doodle. Just listen to Jerry wail on Loser! Mexicali jam gets HOT. Dupree's AND Loose Lucy.
Set 2 HIGHlights: Great Foolish Heart jam and outro. The Other One is a great MIDI experiment. The Wharf Rat goes deep. The entire set is worth a play. Baby Blue encore!

Good for 94, enjoyable but flawed
Good for 94. They were on, instrumentally.
But Jerry's singing was off.
Bob was over-using his distortion and whammy bar. He was playing effects, not notes.
Foolish Heart should have never been in their repertoire.
But it is not bad. I enjoyed Mexicali Blues more than usual -- it was a fun jam.

Ok
A rare visit to the 90's for me. A few too many mumbled lyrics from Jerry but some ok moments too. Let it Grow and Wharf rat were highlights. Nice Baby Blue closer.

vince rocks
one of the best shows of the Vince era. The vocals and intruments are all clear here, and the jamming parts all live up to the band's legend. Yes there are gems to be found in the Vince era, but you sometimes need to sift a little more to find them.

I love the Playin'
Nice show. I have really been enjoying 1994 recently despite thinking it wasn't all that at the time. 20/20 hind site, I guess ;) I have always been a fan of Playin' (the opening riff always seemed like the quintessential Dead "sound" for me) and I tend to favor versions from the 90's. There is something about the Dead's later sound that just works with it. I also have to say that never being a huge Vince fan, I have to give the man his props (RIP, Vince). His playing at this show is great.
